A skin cyst is a round sac filled with fluid. Skin cysts can vary in size from very small pea size to large unsightly lump under the skin.
Skin cysts grow slowly and can remain present for years.
There are two main reasons for the cyst to be removed:
Recurrent infection of the cyst
Large and unsightly cyst which cosmetically not acceptable.
While cyst are not cancerous but some cysts are unsightly or get complicated by recurrent infection which need to be removed surgically.
Successful removal of cyst need high level of surgical experience.
Cyst need to be removed intact with all the roots otherwise the cyst re-occur.
